In response to the release of ALPS treated water from Fukushima, Taiwan established an inter-ministerial platform in 2020 to monitor radiation, ensure seafood safety, and protect fishermen’s rights. The “Ocean Radioactive Information System” provides scientific data, forecasts, and real-time updates to safeguard Taiwan’s surrounding waters.
